Entry: Another Story Plot @@; Feb 28, 2004

Back Cover/ Inside flaps:

It’s the kind of fairy tale that grandma was afraid to even remember. It is the fairy tale where fairies are really rats, the cupids are unfair judges, and the gold filled chamber room of the princess is replaced by juvenile hall. It is my

grotesque, twisted version of “Romeo and Juliet”/ “A midsummer Night’s Dream”.
Marina seeks revenge for her step-fathers arrogance and her step-sister’s cruelty. Marina’s only true friend is not there in ‘Juvy’ to protect her from herself.

“Marina is a psychopath?” her mother shakes her head in protest. The Italian Dottore shuffled his papers nervously. ‘Surely after what her daughter did to her step-father, think of what this full grown woman will do if I piss her off?’ The tanned and balding man stood and paced.
“I’m sure I can tame her,” He fiddled with his thin black dyed goatee. “Mrs., uh, Mrs. Stareling-”
“Absolutely not!” The large woman cut in hotly. “How dare you confuse me with her dreaded father’s name?” She snapped her purse shut and grabbed her youngest daughter’s hand. “Come Jessica, your sister is not available.”
The old man stood in shock as the woman stormed towards the door. “Ma’am, Signora Whinny,” he called out to her back, “perhaps I can interest you into a visit with young Signora Marina?” He flinched behind his desk as the pompous woman rounded on him in a snort of disbelief.
“Dottore Gienny, I would have thought you could have helped us. But I know too much now to even try. I have no more interest in that monstrosity of... Mine.” A single tear rolled down the round face of Whinny Verno. Her daughter was a murderous sadist, and it was all her fault.

Title Page:

“Fairy Tale”

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
A Sonnet
By William Shakespeare

The expense of spirit in a waste of shame
Is lust in action: and till action, lust
Is perjur'd, murderous, bloody, full of blame,
Savage, extreme, rude, cruel, not to trust;
Enjoy'd no sooner but despised straight;
Past reason hunted; and no sooner had,
Past reason hated, as a swallow'd bait,
On purpose laid to make the taker mad:
Mad in pursuit and in possession so;
Had, having, and in quest, to have extreme;
A bliss in proof,-- and prov'd, a very woe;
Before, a joy propos'd; behind a dream.
All this the world well knows; yet none knows well
To shun the heaven that leads men to this hell.

Thanks.
